Summary | 0001068: Small error in Programmers guide
Description | Programmers Guide, P-12: "While OpenFOAM 1.x is set to 3 dimensions, it offers tensors of ranks 0 to 3 as standard while being written in such a way to allow this basic set of ranks to be extended indefinitely." Should this reference to version 1.x be updated to a newer version? Or perhaps the reference to a specific version could be completely removed? The same kind of reference is also found in the end of the same paragraph as well.

This is awesome! Namely how OpenFOAM's origins and history is reflected in the the Programmer's Guide :) Have a look to the old pages from Nabla: http://www.foamcfd.org/Nabla/guides/ProgrammersGuidese2.html#x5-40001.2 - there you'll see that the original text talked about OpenFOAM 2.x! But it's about the old OpenFOAM, most likely referring to the original Nabla's FOAM 2.x. I'm guessing that the current version should simply drop the reference to "1.x" from that section "1.2 Tensors". |
