Summary | 0001372: userguide 2.1.8.1 states length scale % wrong in text
Description | In [2.1.8.1 Pre-processing] of the user guide the text states that: "and that l, is equal to 20% of the box width, 0.1m" The result of the epsilon calculation in (2.13) uses 5% which is also accurate in theory. The files of the tutorial and the results are correct but this minor text makes for minor inconvenience when reading.
Steps To Reproduce | open userguide documentation at [2.1.8.1 Pre-processing] http://www.openfoam.org/docs/user/cavity.php#x5-320002.1.8 text paragraph just below formula (2.10) line states: Let us assume the initial turbulence is isotropic, i.e. ′ 2 ′ 2 ′ 2 Ux = Uy = U z \relax \special {t4ht=, and equal to 5% of the lid velocity and that l \relax \special {t4ht=, is equal to 20% of the box width, 0.1 m \relax \special {t4ht=, then k \relax \special {t4ht= and ε \relax \special {t4ht= are given by:
Additional Information | suggest: change text 20% to 5% (of the box width, 0.1m)
