Summary | 0001401: ReactingParcelFilmFoam thin film solution affected by gas
Description | When the solution of the gas region is turned off and we set the surface shear coefficient (Cf in surfaceFilmProperties) to zero the gas region should have no effect on the thin film region. However, the solution of the thin film is still affected by the choice of velocity in the internal field of the gas region. Altering this value also affects the Courant number in the thin film region.
Steps To Reproduce | This can be reproduced in the tutorial rivuletPanel by setting Cf=0 in surfaceFilmProperties, setting solvePrimaryRegion to false in the additionalControls dict and altering the internal field value of the gas phase velocity. Changing u_y=0 to u_y=10, for example, in 0/U will alter the solution and Courant number in the thin film region.

This was an error due to the set-up, rather than a coding error. An adjustable time-step based on the max courant number was used. Therefore, changing the velocity in the primary region (even if it is not solved) would effect the calculated courant number. The difference in the results were down to the different time-steps.
