Greetings pmsagdeo, From your description, it seems that you've been following the section 2.1 from the OpenFOAM User Guide: http://cfd.direct/openfoam/user-guide/cavity/ Regarding the images, they are indeed outdated. The last version of ParaView that still looked similar to the images in the User Guide was ParaView 3.14. As of ParaView 3.98, the "Properties" and "Display" tabs were merged into the first tab. As for nothing appearing in ParaView, let's go through the steps described on the User Guide, in order to isolate the problem. If we take a look at subsection "2.1.2 Viewing the mesh", the following paragraph describes the steps that I'm not certain if you've seen and followed: This launches the ParaView window as shown in Figure 6.1. In the Pipeline Browser, the user can see that ParaView has opened cavity.OpenFOAM, the module for the cavity case. Before clicking the Apply button, the user needs to select some geometry from the Mesh Parts panel. Because the case is small, it is easiest to select all the data by checking the box adjacent to the Mesh Parts panel title, which automatically checks all individual components within the respective panel. The user should then click the Apply button to load the geometry into ParaView. The two main important phrases as the first and the last one. In the Figure 6.1 (first phrase): http://cfd.direct/openfoam/user-guide/paraview/#x30-1800011 - is shown where the Apply button should be present; clicking on the Apply button is necessary for the case to be loaded and represented in ParaView (last phrase). Please let us know if this solves the problem. Best regards, Bruno |

@Chris: The problem here seems to be that since the images for ParaView are outdated, unfamiliar users get disoriented when following the User Guide with the latest ParaView versions. |

Fixed all ParaView images in User Guide in OpenFOAM 3.0.0 and online: http://cfd.direct/openfoam/user-guide Thanks for bringing this to our attention. |
