I see that this is being followed up on the forum at CFD-Online here: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/openfoam-meshing-utilities/150699-cant-import-airfoil-meshes-successfully.html According to Alexey Matveichev, one of the problems is that plot3dToFoam is not taking advantage of the "Neutral Map File". In addition, here is one of the example files: - http://turbmodels.larc.nasa.gov/NACA0012_grids/n0012_1793-513.p3dfmt.gz - http://turbmodels.larc.nasa.gov/NACA0012_grids/n0012_1793-513.nmf One of the major "problems" here is that plot3DToFoam was designed to only import the points from the "p3d" file, which means that a mesh with the correct point count must already exist and have the boundaries already properly defined in the OpenFOAM mesh, before importing the points from the p3d file. edit: I think I might be confusing plot3dToFoam with datToFoam... This is therefore more on the level of a feature request. |
